Dr. Sinh Ta graduated from the University of California, San Diego and went on to complete her education at Columbia University obtaining certificates in both Advanced Education in General Dentistry and Orthodontics. In 2001, she opened an office on the Upper East Side where she has been caring for her patients ever since. In 2012, Dr. Ta opened the doors to the Tribeca office after becoming aware of a need in the area. She strives to work with you in any way possible to achieve your perfect smile. When not working on the Upper East Side or Tribeca, Dr. Ta likes to spend time on the beach with her husband and two daughters. She looks forward to helping you achieve all of your dental goals.

Dr. Ela Persico is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She graduated from Villanova University and went on to complete her education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She completed a General Practice Residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC. Following a year of private practice where Dr. Ela was only treating pediatric patients, she decided to return to Mount Sinai for a two-year program to become specialized in pediatric dentistry. During this time, she served as chief resident and helped develop an oral health program for local elementary schools. She received extensive training in behavior management, use of laughing gas, sedation dentistry, and treatment of patients with special needs. Dr. Ela was also chosen for a fellowship through the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and received her MPH in August 2015 as well. She serves as a part-time attending at Mount Sinai Hospital where she works with the pediatric dental residents. She is a member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In her spare time, she serves on the junior board of the Inner City Scholarship Fund, enjoys traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Danya Mermelstein is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mermelstein grew up in New Rochelle, New York and received her B.A. from Yeshiva University and her DMD from Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine. She continued her dental training during a year of Advanced General Dentistry training at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Mermelstein then decided to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and completed her pediatric specialty residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She worked in a pediatric dental practice in Brookline, Massachusetts for several years and is excited to join the Tribeca North Dentistry team. Dr. Mermelstein loves the challenge of treating children’s dental needs while nurturing bonds of trust, confidence, and friendship with them. In her free time, Dr. Mermelstein designs and creates jewelry and enjoys traveling and running.

Dr. Cheryl is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She was a touch-it-all child at the dentist and was completely fascinated with all the cool tools and gadgets. She had her eyes set on being a dentist at a young age. Her dreams came true when she was accepted into an accelerated program, which allowed her to become a dentist in 7 years instead of 8 years. Even with an accelerated curriculum, Dr. Cheryl graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and was top 10 in her class allowing her to be inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. It was then in her General Practice Residency in Newark that she found her passion for treating children. Dr. Cheryl still fondly remembers treating a scared little girl where she was able to channel her long-lost creativity and make an appointment full of sleepy teeth, sugar bugs and princess castles. She continued on her journey to pursue her pediatric dental training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and served as chief resident in her second year. She is also a recipient of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Richard C. Pugh Achievement award for scoring in the top 3% of the written boards. In her spare time, Dr. Cheryl enjoys going to concerts, watching movies, baking and traveling the world one country at a time. She is also passionate about giving back and volunteering her time to provide dental care to underserved populations. For the past 5 years, she has become an essential part of an outreach group that travels to Guatemala annually to treat the population who otherwise has no access to dental care. Dr. Cheryl understands that every child is special and needs tender love and care tailored to their individual needs. She takes a conservative approach to dentistry and believes that prevention is the most important goal in dentistry. She strives to give every patient a fun and positive experience to pave the way for a lifetime of happy and healthy smiles!

Dr. Emily Park hails from Northern California and became a long term East Coaster when she started her dental program at New York University. She met and married her husband, a long time Long Islander, sealing her fate to be a New Yorker forever. They have three children, and live on the Upper West Side. Dr. Park’s favorite thing about being a general dentist is making meaningful connections with her patients and empowering her patients to own their dental health through dental education. She is passionate about restoring form and function to people’s smiles and loves getting to know her patients in the process. She has practiced in several private offices in Manhattan since 2006, and joins Tribeca North with the hopes to continue doing what she loves.

Dr. Joanne Oh was born and raised in sunny Southern California. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, San Diego earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Oh received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, graduating in the top 5% of her class. Upon graduation, Dr. Oh moved to New York, continuing her training at a hospital-based general practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. Dr. Oh’s top priority remains in providing the highest quality dental care, treating every patient with her gentle touch in a thorough and efficient nature. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, and travel.
